Our skin cancer clinic is a specialised clinic staffed by highly trained skin cancer doctors and nurses, and fitted with the latest technology to assist diagnosis and treatment.
More than 3,600 people are diagnosed with melanoma in Queensland each year. Unfortunately our skin cancer rates are the highest in Australia, and along with New Zealand, are the highest rates in the world.
Prevention is vitally important - and so is regular surveillance and early detection and treatment.
When did you last have a skin cancer check?
Ask your doctor about your own level of risk and for advice on early detection. Get into a routine of checking your skin for new spots and changes to existing freckles or moles.
We cannot afford to forget sun protection– its never too late to prevent further damage.

Dr Robbie is a GP with a special interest in skin cancer management. He is passionate about diagnosing and treating skin cancers.
He is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia and has been involved part-time in research around non-melanoma skin cancers.
Appointments
We request that patients ring (07) 5563 5151 to make their skin clinic appointments. This is to ensure that our staff can allocate the correct time with the doctor.
Different times are allocated for full skin examinations, spot checks, and follow-ups. Procedures and dressings are booked at the direction of the skin cancer doctor.
Fees
The out of pocket expense will depend on the service or procedure.

Multiple Procedures in the Same Appointment
Gap Fee for non-concession card holders: $80 for the first procedure, or $30 for biopsy and an additional $20 for each extra procedure.
