Audika - Hearing Tests

It’s a good idea to get your hearing checked if you:

  • Were born early or stayed in intensive care
  • Had high bilirubin or needed a blood transfusion
  • Took medicines that can affect hearing
  • Have a family history of hearing loss
  • Had serious infections like meningitis or CMV
  • Were around very loud noises

Exercise Physiology

Exercise Physiology with Joel Wearn

Joel Wearn (BBus, BExSc, ESSAM, AES, AEP) is a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist with over 10 years’ experience. He’s worked in diabetes clinics (with endocrinologists), commercial gyms, hydrotherapy classes, mining pre-employment testing, DVA and WorkCover rehabilitation.

Joel accepts all valid referrals and bulk bills under a GP Management Plan with Team Care Arrangements (GPMP/TCA).

Kathleen Sparshott - 42 Psychology

Kathleen Sparshott PhD AfBPS

Kathleen is a psychologist with over with over 25 years’ experience. She specialised in the UK in Health Psychology and has worked in occupational health, counselling, organisational psychology, sports psychology, military psychology, psychometrics and personality profiling, diagnostics and research.

She works with a wide-range of conditions including anxiety, trauma, grief, health adjustments, relationship difficulties, work stress, child-related issues, communication difficulties, personal stress and life stages.

Kathleen utilises a combination of evidence-based approaches (CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness), psycho-education, psychological theory. Her main aim is to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship with the patient, in order to build an effective psychological toolkit together.

She offers appointments at Hope Island Medical Centre, as well as telehealth and telephone appointments.
